Pull-Up Resistors on Data-IO Pins (Flash and SDRAM)

Hello,

I´m using the Synergy DK-S7G2 Development kit and i have a question about it.

Can someone please explain me the reason, why all the data-Pins of the SDRAM and FLASH have pullup Resistors? Can i do it without?
