DKS7G2 PDC settings for a custom camera

Hi ,

I’m currently working on a project that consists in capturing a video flux from a camera.

The camera is an ASX340CS from ONSemi.

I’m using the development kit for the S7G2 synergy microcontroller (DK).

I’m using the example code “PDC Capture LCD with SSP 1.2.0” as a base.

About the hardware I hooked up the parallel bus of my camera (Pxclk, Hsync, VSynk, D0 to D7) to the input of the PDC.

My camera is set with the following settings:

  • Pixel clock : 25MHz
  • Output RGB565
  • Frame rate 27.5 FPS
  • Resolution : VGA

The PDC settings are exactly the same as the original example code except for the HSYNC and VSYNC polarity that have both been set to high in order to match the output configuration of the camera.

So far I managed to capture a few frames (less than 5). And just after the application crashes. When I used the debugger I saw that there is no more callback from the PDC so the program never displays other frames.  I have also seen that there are sometime callbacks generated because of underrun or overrun on the PDC.

So I would like to have some help to tune the settings of the PDC (or eventually the settings of my camera) to success in capturing a continuous video flux.

Regards
