It would be very useful if the old tags (with a given minimum number of appearances) were remembered forever. The tags section currently is useless for me because it "forgets" the tags based on its alphabetical order, eliminating very common tags in old forum questions such USB or Network.
In order not to have a huge database, some fusion of similar tags maybe could be done (Net, Network, NetX, for example).
