RE: The Forum? What?

But the main functional problem is, of course, I came here with a ("simple" installation) problem and could not find my way efficiently to an answer.

There's several good points about information organization for people NEW TO SYNERGY. I think that for people familiar with the forum or Synergy, the site works. However, there may be problems finding answers to basic installation gotchas.  IMO, the key point is the line above. Nick is having problems with the install of the basic tools. Since it's in the Synergy section, I'm assuming it's e2 Studio, SSP, plus the sample applications.

Although, this is just one data point, one structure for new people could be:

  1. e2 Studio and SSP install problems
  2. Sample applications

Also, maybe have the sample app discussion structured around a few basic functions for people to evaluate.

A great example of connecting a technical guide to community editing and discussion is the Meteor Guide. In the example below, the group has a programming "Guide" that a reader can help update (by submitting a GitHub pull request to the document) and also go to the forum to ask a question about the documentation. The section of the forum it goes to is organized as one topic per Guide section. I don't think the Synergy questions have critical mass for this type of structure, but it might be usable for the section on BASIC INSTALLATION and board/MCU evaluation.
